TABI TIMELINE

Tabi history dates back over 1000 years in Japan, traditionally worn by Geishas and Ninjas. 

We did not invent the tabi silhuoette, nor did Maison Margiela or Nike.
We are inspired by history, and with +20 years of experience in footwear, we did 100% create TABI footwear out of own original idea. 

We have tested and tried all types of shoes, and wanted to create our TABI shoe, where function meets fashion, and you actually get the benefits of the split-toe. 
A trip to Capetown and a pair of split-toe boots ignited, what we think is the future of footwear for us. Performance based footwear, comfortable & grounding with minimal support for innate amplification.

After living in Meguro, Tokyo, a little help from our design studio in LA & own personal experience, we created this.

Although tabi is trending at the moment, most tabi shoes have been made with old tooling, so we wanted to create new tooling & new technology for ours. Almost 4 years in we are still convinced we did the right thing seeing how the community is growing, and loving your feet-back.
