Balance and feeling barefoot - that sensation was Eik’s initial feeling, when he walked in his split-toe surf boots, from the surf-shop to the ocean (Capetown, South Africa).
Understanding footwear production from more than 20+ years in the shoe business, he wanted to share this sensation, with the world.

Tabi silhuoettes were invented more than a 1000 years ago in Japan - worn on the feet of Geisha’s and Ninja’s.
Eik learned from the best, a fourth generation, mentor and manufacturer in Okayama, Japan - the techniques, and reason behind the traditional and unique footwear.

Eik founded Rubberduck when he was 25 years old in LA. It became popular amongst A-list celebrities like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton & Lindsay Lohan.

Eik sold rubberduck, and founded Nature.
